Following severe damage caused by the 2022 Northern Rivers floods, J&M Bashforth & Sons was engaged to complete critical flood recovery infrastructure works on Huonbrook Road within Byron Shire.
The project involved replacing two large culverts and a damaged causeway to help restore safe access for residents and reconnect essential infrastructure within the area.
These works formed an important part of the broader NSW flood recovery program aimed at rebuilding vital regional infrastructure.
Our team delivered the project with a focus on safety, efficient water management and maintaining access for the local community throughout construction.
One of the major challenges on the project was maintaining safe access for local residents while completing major reconstruction works within a remote location.
The team also managed complex water-diversion requirements and traffic-control measures to ensure works could progress safely and efficiently despite challenging site and environmental conditions.
